The decision could lead to the defendant's release in 90 days if the government does not decide to retry him.

Dassey and his uncle, Steven Avery, were convicted of killing Teresa Halbach.

She was killed after she went to the Avery family auto salvage yard to photograph some vehicles.

Dassey, who was 16 at the time, and Avery were sentenced to life in prison.

Attorneys for Steven Avery, the subject of the hit Netflix documentary series Making A Murderer, are set to deliver a lecture and host a Q&A at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center Sunday.

Kohli goes cheaply as Joseph makes dream Windies debut
Fortuitously for him, India's both openers got injured and the team had no choice but to push him to open the innings. Joseph, in his third over, then dismissed India captain Kohli as he fended a rising delivery to first slip.

The conviction of Brendan Dassey has been overturned. "These repeated false promises, when considered in conjunction with all relevant factors, most especially Dassey's age, intellectual deficits, and the absence of a supportive adult, rendered Dassey's confession involuntary under the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments". According to "Making a Murderer", the police coerced confessions out of Dassey and planted evidence to bring in Avery.

Viewers were outraged with the outcome of the case, even going as far as drafting a White House petition, which garnered over 130,000 signatures, asking President Obama to issue full pardons to both Avery and Dassey.

The ruling says Dassey is to be released from custody within 90 days.

His uncle Steven is also appealing his conviction in the death of Halbach, a photographer who was at his family's compound to photograph cars. Avery is behind bars at the Waupun Correctional Institution.

Former Wisconsin DA Ken Kratz hasn't commented on the new development yet, but one of Avery's lawyers in the Halbach trial, Jerry Buting, issued a celebratory tweet.
