"We are heartbroken for the family that lost their daughter".

"I can not tell you very much about the young man that we have in custody", Rich told reporters. Two men are in hospital suffering from stab wounds while a third man died.

It appears to show a male stabbing a female inside of Abbotsford Secondary School in British Columbia on November 1. "There was blood everywhere". The attacker suddenly stopped when a man wearing an apron approached them.

A stabbing at a B.C. high school has left one student dead and another injured.

A staging area was set-up at the nearby Abbotsford Arts Centre.

"Out of respect for the family, we are asking that this video not be shared further and not be broadcast", Rich said. The students were attacked a short distance apart.

Rich said classes were in session at the time of the assault, and he didn't know exactly where inside the school the two girls were attacked or whether they were together at the time, but they "weren't a long distance apart from each other". Abbotsford Senior Secondary will be closed tomorrow but counsellors will be available.

"I believe that staff were so proactive and quick that further tragedies probably were prevented due to their actions", Rich said.

The lockdowns lasted well after the end of the school day, leaving many worried parents anxiously waiting to learn more about what had happened. The second victim is still in hospital in stable condition. Another was taken to Abbotsford Regional Hospital via ambulance and was then airlifted by helicopter. The restriction was related to the stabbing, confirmed Fraser Health on Tuesday afternoon.

Abbotsford Senior Secondary School and Abbotsford Middle School were locked down for several hours as a precautionary measure. "We are a very caring community and when one of us hurts, we all do".
