Both versions will be released May 19, the same day a two-pack featuring amiibo of Shadows of Valentia's Alm and Celica hits stores. Since this game is a remake of a far olde Fire Emblem games, many mechanics that fans may be used to, such as the pairing up mechanic, are no longer going to be in this game.

In another first for the Fire Emblem series Alm and Celica can freely explore caves and dungeons in three dimensions, allowing them to see enemies before battle: players can gain a vital advantage by attacking enemies in these areas, causing them to begin the conflict with reduced health. They can nab loot and level up in them by way of a menu from the overworld map, or you can use them to summon illusions of themselves for a single turn based on the amiibo's stats. Fire Emblem Warriors will bring the series into the action genre on Switch and 3DS, and a Switch-exclusive traditional Fire Emblem game is also releasing in 2018.

For what it's worth, I have the artbook for Fire Emblem Fates, and it's gorgeous. Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is set to release on May 19 for the Nintendo 3DS.

NC State Hires Kevin Keatts As Head Coach
Gottfried made NCAA tournaments in his first four years in Raleigh, after Sidney Lowe had gone 0-for-5 before Gottfried's arrival. Prior to taking the job at UNC Wilmington, Keatts was an assistant under Rick Pitino at Louisville from 2011 to 2014.

In addition, amiibo of Marth, Roy, Ike, Robin, Lucina, and even the upcoming Corrin amiibo can be used to summon an Illusory Hero of that character, allowing players to seek assistance from spectral visages.

The package also comes with reversible cover art meant to replicate the look of the game Fire Emblem Gaiden, which features the same story, characters, and basic gameplay mechanics of Shadows of Valentia. All other amiibo will summon additional monsters to the battleground to assist players in battle. Thankfully you aren't just restricted to a standard edition of Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia.
