A man turned himself in to police early Wednesday morning in connection to the fatal stabbing of a 66-year-old man in midtown, cops said.

He was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators say the stabbing was a result of a dispute between the suspect and the victim near the southeast corner of West 36th Street and Ninth Avenue, though it's unclear why the pair fought and what sparked the violence.

Nearby surveillance cameras in the area captured Jackson plunging a knife into Caughman's back and stomach, who then managed to make his way to the Midtown South Precinct just a block away, to relay what occurred to him.

Police released a video showing the man believed to be the attacker running from the scene of the stabbing, along with a photo. "The reason why he picked NY is because it's the media capital of the world, and he wanted to make a statement".

Colbert went on to reveal the first part of the joke, which turned out to be one of the most well-known jokes in America. That does not support arguments from left-wing voters during the campaign that Trump doesn't actually pay federal taxes.

The Maryland resident had been harboring feelings of hate toward black people for "over 10 years", police said.

"It is believed he was specifically intending to target male blacks", NYPD Assistant Chief William Aubrey said during a Wednesday press conference. The newspaper described him as a "career criminal" while police said he was homeless. Aubrey said he came from Maryland on Friday via a BoltBus.

On Monday night, Jackson crossed paths with Timothy Caughman, a black man who was rummaging through garbage on a sidewalk in Manhattan's Hell's Kitchen neighborhood, according to the police account. They said they recovered two knives from the man.

The assailant told police that he drove all the way from Baltimore to New York City with the deliberate objective of murdering a black person. "We're very fortunate that it stopped at one and it wasn't more".

James Harris Jackson, 28, is a veteran of the Army and has written a manifesto declaring his racist views, according to sources.
