Arrest made after 2 officers shot in Seattle

--- 4:10 p.m. Seattle police say an at-large suspect they had been searching for in t. About a block away, police attempted to stop the pair suspected in the robbery. The officers were taken to Harborview Medical Center.

A female officer, 42, was shot in the chest and was listed in satisfactory condition. A 17-year-old female struck that officer over the head with a bottle, Best said.

Officers arrived on scene and came in contact with two men and a woman suspected in the robbery, according to Carmen Best with Seattle Police.

A 19-year-old male suspect fled into the entryway of an office building and began exchanging gunfire with police.

Police said Thursday night that officers found the male suspect deceased.

UPDATE 3:05 p.m.: "One of the suspected shooters is dead, a second is under arrest and a search is on for a third suspect, police say", KOMO reports.

Brad Clough, who works at a bicycle fix shop in the area, said he heard sirens and saw at least several dozen police officers converge on the scene. The Seattle Police Foundation had said earlier that the officers were "alert and OK". Police blocked off several streets around the Henry M. Jackson Federal Building.

Chief Kathleen O'Toole told reporters the injuries to the officers were believed to be minor. While the Seattle Police Department confirmed that officers fired their weapons during the incident, but the cause of the male suspect's death will be determined and released by the King County Medical Examiner. One of the suspects ended up barricaded inside a building.

"Our hearts and our thoughts are with those officers and their families", Seattle Mayor Ed Murray said.

"In an abundance of caution, when we entered the building, we chose to clear it and render it safe", Best said.

One suspect was found with serious injuries following the shootings, and another was taken into custody. Several officers were shot while responding to a robbery in Saattle.

Harborview Medical Center said the hospitalized male officer remained in serious condition.

The Seattle Police Department declined to confirm the names.
