Spanish midfield maestro Thiago Alcantara has extended his contract with Bayern Munich, and is now tied to the Bavarian giants until 2021.

He told the club's website: "My family and I feel at home in Munich".

Coman has spent two years on loan at the Allianz, showcasing his supreme ability and emerging as one of the most exciting young players in the world.

"Everything fits. I want to win many titles with FC Bayern in the future".

Thiago, who turned 26 earlier this month, signed for Bayern in 2013 from Barcelona at the start of Pep Guardiola's three-year reign in Bavaria.

Friday's announcement comes just 24 hours after the record champions confirmed they had taken an option to sign Kingsley Coman permanently from Juventus, on a contract through until 2020.

The vote capped a two-hour debate and coincided with the Illinois Women March on Springfield for a "progressive agenda". There are countless other bills that are expected to be heard this week as the final six weeks of session kick off.

The Bundesliga table-toppers have exercised their option to sign Kingsley Coman from Juventus.

"He is a player with huge potential", Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said.

So far Coman, who has made 11 appearances for France, has failed to win a regular first-team place and scored two goals in 17 Bundesliga appearances this season.

"We are very happy that we have been able to tie this outstanding professional to the club for the long term".

Bayern Munich are one step away from the 2016/2017 German Bundesliga season when they collide with Wolfsburg on Saturday in the 31st round of the competition. "We're convinced that he will be of great help to us in the coming years".
