Ben Carson stuck in elevator of Miami public housing building

Secretary Ben Carson continues his national listening tour, Wednesday, in Miami.

Miami Fire Dept. officials responded to The Courtside Apartments Wednesday morning and were able to free Dr. Carson and Cindy Carson 20 minutes later, according to the Miami Herald.

Ironically, if that occurs, the budget cuts will severely impact HUD's maintenance funds (i.e. their ability to execute much needed fix work on public housing facilities, like the elevator Carson just got stuck in).

The HUD secretary seemed amused after being let out of the elevator.

A birdie on the eighth repaired some of the damage but still left McIlroy seven shots off the pace being set by Hoffman, who had birdied the second and fourth.

But the Miami Herald reports Mourning was waiting anxiously in the building's lobby as firefighters labored to pry the doors open, and wasn't in the elevator with the group.

Carson and Liu had waited for Mourning, who was late for their meeting, but then went to view the rooftop, but as they returned to the ground floor, the doors to the elevator jammed.

After the incident, Carson toured the Collins Park Apartments in Allapattah, where he was led into another elevator.

Residents were glad to see him during his visit as they hope he will now defend against the Trump administration's proposed budget cuts to public housing, the TV station added.
