Of the three Lok Sabha seats reserved for Scheduled Castes in the state, the party had not won even one.

Shah asked the party workers to react peacefully against the violence perpetrated against them in states like Kerala, Bengal and Tripura. "They are not admitting their defeat and instead blaming EVMs", he said.

'We have 13 chief ministers across India but we aim to have a chief minister in every state, ' he said, adding that from local bodies and state legislatures to Parliament, the BJP will have a majority every where.

BJP president Amit Shah garlanded the statue of Dr B R Ambedkar at A G Chhak, near the Secretariat, upon his arrival. "They will meet party workers", Prasad said.

Urging party workers "not to be lethargic" after stunning victories in recently-concluded assembly polls, Amit Shah said that all the National Executive members including ministers would visit at least 15 days at booths to know their problems and concerns including to take suggestions for the improvement.

"The Union Ministers, Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers coming here to attend the BJP's national executive meeting will be treated as State guests", said the Chief Minister's Office (CMO). This year, however, is an entirely different story with the BJP winning in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and also forming the government in Manipur and Goa.

"We want to strengthen our party. BJP is growing in Odisha and we are trying to come to power here in 2019", said Naidu.

The main agenda of the meet is to discuss ways to increase its political footprint and plan a roadmap for the assembly and Lok Sabha polls in 2019.

"Least bothered ... I am not at all anxious", said Patnaik.

Coming against the backdrop of a massive saffron sweep in Uttar Pradesh besides a decent show in recent bypolls, the meeting of party leaders from across the country is set to fete Modi and Shah's leadership, and project the victories as a popular endorsement of the central government, sources said.

The Prime Minister, earlier, held a roadshow in the state capital ahead of the meeting.

Modi, who was clad in all white, beamed and waved at the people gathered on both sides of the road for a glimpse with lotus flowers in their hands. "Modi, ' "Bharat Mata ki Jai" and 'Bande Mataram" rent the air.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP veterans L K Advani and M M Joshi will be among those joining the deliberations.

After a 20-minute halt at Raj Bhavan, Modi resumed his roadshow.

An exhibition was inaugurated at the venue of the national executive committee (NEC) meeting of BJP at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.
