2017 marks the iPhone's 10th anniversary, and the rumors are that Apple will be releasing three new models to celebrate: two handsets with incremental improvements, and a third, radically redesigned "premium" iPhone. According to "people familiar with the matter", Apple will fight this year's long-running battle against Google with three new high-end iPhones.

While Apple is now working with manufacturing partners in Asia to create several prototypes of the newly redesigned phone - meaning that descriptions could change before the estimated fall debut - sources provided Bloomberg with an idea of what the device will be.

Apple is also rumoured to be putting a fingerprint reader under the glass of the new iPhone. It also leads customers to buy other Apple devices like the iPad and Apple Watch, and serves as a home for lucrative services like the App Store.

There is no doubt that Apple has some major plans for the iPhone's tenth anniversary this year.

Russia, Google reach USD 7.8 mln settlement on Android case
The dispute arose after Russia-based search company Yandex submitted a complaint to the FAS about Google's practices. Russian antitrust regulators also fined the company $7.8 million.

The screen being tested covers nearly the entire front of the device, resulting in a display larger than the iPhone 7. The report also says while the screen is larger than the iPhone 7 Plus, the overall size of the smartphone is similar to an iPhone 7.

The two other phones, on the other hand, will still use liquid crystal display technology.

Twitter can hold many secrets as to what will be released later in the year and a tweet from Sonny Dickson shows that the iPhone 8 might have a rear-facing Touch ID sensor. But, as mentioned, this might not be the design that Apple selects.

As far as design goes, Apple is now testing various prototypes, with the latest one featuring curved glass on both the front and the back. Or it could have a curved glass front meeting its metal back, like what the current designs have. It says the iPhone 8 will adopt OLED panel whilst the "iPhone 7s" phones will use the same LCD screens as every iPhone to date. The phone will allegedly feature a stainless steel frame sandwiched between glass plates. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo too had also previously predicted the same thing - that the upcoming iPhone will employ a similar design as the iPhone 4. Expect more glass, with subtle curves.
