YouTube Has A New Dark Mode: Here's How To Get It

If you've ever sat in the dark with a bright laptop open, you're likely familiar with the headache that habit can induce.

However, it turns out there's a Dark Mode the company wasn't telling anyone about.

The YouTube website's abundance of white light doesn't make for the most comfortable for viewing at night. You'll also need to be using Google Chrome (version 57 or above).

Close the developer tools tab and refresh the page.

Furthermore, Youssef Sarhan points out that adding "gaming" to the beginning of your YouTube URL will load the page with a dark UI, achieving a similar effect without having to change things in the console.

Reddit user /u/_paul- discovered the feature and provided instructions for enabling it on PC. While this is just a UI that YouTube has created for YouTube Gaming, adding "gaming" as a subdomain to the URL works on any of YouTube's videos.
