NFL Network first reported McCourty was expected to join the Browns, adding he had dinner with the coaches Monday night and took a physical for the team Tuesday during a free-agent visit to its headquarters.

Arizona State Sun Devils place kicker Zane Gonzalez kicks in the first half October 15 in Boulder, Colo.

"I told Gregg, whatever position they see me, I'm willing to learn", McCourty said. I know what his defenses consist of.

McCourty was a sixth-round pick of the Titans in 2009 and has totaled 517 tackles, 13 interceptions, 91 passes defensed, six forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries and a sack.

"In talking with Sashi and Coach Hue Jackson, it was obvious", McCourty said.

Finally, Gareth Morgan Investments Limited Partnership boosted its position in shares of Foot Locker by 4.3% in the first quarter. Foot Locker still is ahead of its 52 week low, but now trading at the lower end of the range it has been in over the past year .

"I wanted to go somewhere where I felt I could come in and be a piece of the puzzle, whether it's helping with veteran leadership or contributing in any way I can on the field", he said.

McCourty only played in four games in 2015 because of injuries, but bounced back in 2016 to play in 14 games. "This was an easy decision for me".

The Browns also announced they have signed seventh-round draft choice Zane Gonzalez.

McCourty would potentially fill the opening created by rookie Howard Wilson's knee injury, though McCourty would definitely project as a starter ahead of the fourth-round pick.

But McCourty will turn 30 before the start of the 2017 regular season, and players who hit 30 and are not named Joe Thomas are quickly falling out of favor in Berea. Gonzalez, a kicker from Arizona State, was picked 224th overall. He finished his career as the FBS all-time leader in field goals made (96) and points by a kicker (494).
