"True or false: Jason Day will one day tee off with Tony Romo?". Golf is one of them. He's done it before, and while he hasn't yet qualified, he's gotten pretty close.

Simms, who held CBS' No. 1 job game analyst job for 20 years, has been moved to "The NFL Today" pregame show to make room for Romo.

The recently retired Cowboys QB did not advance to sectional qualifying for the 2017 U.S. Open, missing the cut by six shots.

Here's how Romo's day is going so far, from ESPN's Todd Archer.

Day's friend and fellow Australian David Lutterus competed alongside Romo, the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback, in the U.S. Open local qualifier in Aledo, Texas, on Monday.

Lalu to face trial in all fodder scam cases: SC
The sentence had immediately led to his disqualification from Parliament and barred him from elections for 11 years. The high court upheld the CBI plea to continue proceedings in the trial court against Lalu under two sections.

Romo shot a three-over 75 at a qualifier in Texas on Monday, and finished in a tie for 40th.

At a qualifying event for this year's U.S. Open, Romo told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that he realizes that he won't be on the level as Troy Aikman or Cris Collinsworth saying, "I know I'll probably stink for a while". I understand I'm coming in without any experience in that world. In 2010, he made it to sectional qualifying but had to withdraw in order to participate in organized team activities with the Cowboys. It's exciting. It's a little nerve-wracking.

So CBS will have to be patient with the TV rookie during his first season in the broadcast booth with Jim Nantz. That's why you love to do things. Whatever.' Then he goes and eagles the next hole. There also were Romo signs on fences of homes neighboring the course.

Though he is best known for his football career, Romo never stopped playing golf. You're coming in to the unknown and it's something I have to get better at. It was fun. I got into it.
