Germany showcased the wondrous reservoir of talent at their disposal at the 2017 Confederations Cup in their Group B game against Australia at the Fisht Olympic Stadium, as they beat the Socceroos 3-2 in an enthralling tie on Monday.

Much had been made before kick-off of Germany bringing a young squad and their starting line-up had just 138 worldwide appearances between them.

Only three of the world champions from Brazil in 2014 have traveled to Russia: Shkodran Mustafi, Matthias Ginter and Julian Draxler. With the likes of Thomas Mueller, Neuer, Mats Hummels, Toni Kroos, Mesut Ozil and Jerome Boateng rested, Loew says he wants his stars looking over their shoulders.

On the back of his breakthrough season with RB Leipzig, striker Timo Werner expects a fiery start in Sochi. "We don't know why the second half we were so good compared with the first half".

This team has no real stand out superstars but they have still managed to get wins and they will look to do the same in this game.

"We felt, as much as we were having defensive problems, when we got the ball we were a little bit too static in our movement", Postecoglou said.

"It was no fault of the players, they (Germany) took advantage in the first half and they were way too good".

LEON GORETZKA was the star man as he inspired Germany to victory in their opening Confederations Cup game.

Up stepped captain Julian Draxler to fire Die Mannschaft back into the lead.

Boston Celtics Interested In Trading For Kristaps Porzingis
In 2016-17, he averaged 18.1 points, 7.2 rebounds and two blocks as the Knicks struggled through a second straight 50-loss season. Porzingis shot 35.7 percent from the 3-point arc on nearly five attempts per game last season while blocking 2.0 shots per game.

Dominant in possession, Germany were rampant in attack as they carved through Australia's three-man defence at will but with thanks to some profligacy, were unable to make their domination count.

"They have faultless during their qualifying".

A youthful Germany side were certainly the dominant force against the Socceroos and could have made the scoreline more flattering had they been more clinical, while a poor performance from goalkeeper Bernd Leno helped their opponents snatch their two goals.

Australia next face Cameroon, who lost 2-0 to Chile in their opening game, in Saint Petersburg on Thursday with both teams needing a win in their bid to reach the semi-finals.

"Robbie makes really decisive runs and we thought could cause them some problems and ask them some different questions".
