Litellini had just received a video from him, saying he was "not going to pull the cord and that he was going somewhere wonderful", police said.

She ran into the skydiving center begging the employees to radio the plane to stop her husband.

Vitantonio's death is Skydive DeLand's fifth in four years, WKMG reported.

Vitantonio's wife tried to stop her husband from jumping.

According to the report, Capotorto Vitantonio, 27, died and was found facedown in a field near Skydive DeLand on Tuesday, after sending the message to his wife who attempted to reach the pilot of the plane before the jump.

The Sky Dive DeLand employee told investigators that Vitantonio seemed "normal" before going up.

DeLand Police said Vitantonio jumped and did not pull the cord to open his parachute, according to a revised police report released Friday.

Mike Johnston, a general manager at the facility told The News-Journal earlier this week that Capotorto's wife had arrived "moments too late".

"We express our deepest sympathy for his family and his friends", Skydive Deland said in a statement.

Vitantonio's was employer was United Parachute Technologies, which is also based in DeLand, according to Time.

Capotorto was an avid skydiver with more than 600 jumps.

The United States Parachute Association, of which Skydive Deland is a member, reported 21 fatalities related to skydiving in 2016 out of 3.2 million estimated jumps by its members. His social media profiles show numerous photos of him in the air, sometimes with a GoPro-style camera strapped to his head.
