Bungie Outlines Destiny 2's Streaming and Game Capture Restrictions on PC

In an attempt to curtail cheating on the PC version of the title, Bungie have apparently disabled third party applications from inserting any code into the PC version of Destiny 2.

The PC beta for Destiny 2 will start later this month and a lot of players are very excited for it. Bungie recently revealed what kind of system requirements the beta shall have and they are surprisingly in check with low-to-mid end systems. While it may be trickier to stream or capture Destiny 2 with a one-PC setup, the addition of other hardware such as a second PC or an Elgato or aVerMedia capture cards seem to be the best workaround.

The first Destiny beta was a huge success, but the number of players that participated in the Destiny 2 beta was even bigger. The devs explain that using the windowed capture modes of those app will be permitted, though.

"Other recording applications, such as Dxtory, Razer Cortex, Fraps have similar restrictions to those outlined above", Bungie notes.

Overlays Some features from third-party applications which rely on the use of screen overlays are generally not compatible with Destiny 2.

Some overlays for chat and hardware monitoring will also be blocked from functioning.

This relates to Exclusive Fullscreen, where more of your PC's resources are put towards running the game. Although this won't be an issue for the actual aps, the blog post does state that both Discord and Mumble's "who's talking" and visual notification features won't work. "Destiny 2 full game pre-orders also have the highest digital mix in Activision's history".
