The case is that the staff of Rosgvardia arrived in the Moscow Regional Court to guard one of the criminals taken to the trial from Matrosskaya Tishina.

Tatiana Petrova, a spokeswoman for the Russian Interior Ministry's Moscow department, told TASS among those wounded were a Russian National Guard officer and two policemen.

One tried to strangle a guard before the defendants seized the guards' weapons and the group managed to escape, the investigative committee said. On the third floor of the courtroom defendants encountered officers of the National Guard.

They added that "three of the prisoners were liquidated and two wounded".

Lawyer Sofia Rubasskaya described the shooting as it unfolded. "They fall asleep in court, or do something else", the lawyer commented.
