Today one of those possibilities has become a reality with Psyonix announcing that Rocket League will have special Mario and Luigi cars, along with Samus' ship from Metroid exclusively available on Nintendo Switch.

Look for more information on our Nintendo Switch release as we get closer to launch! The developer said that players will earn them "in-game by completing certain requirements", with the studio promising more details to come in the future. Hey, Rocket League players care about boost trails.

The supersonic acrobatic rocket-powered battle cars will have Mario, Luigi and Metroid themes available on Switch in addition to Mario and Luigi hats for existing vehicles. Which team you're on in any given match will affect which cars you can use: if you're on Blue team, you'll have access to the Luigi NSR and a tweaked Samus auto styled after her Varia Suit; if you're on Orange team, you'll be able to drive the Mario NSR and Samus' Gunship. The Gunship vehicle will come with a Wave Beam specialized boost.

Victor or nominee of more than 150 "Game of the Year" awards, Rocket League is one of the most critically-acclaimed sports games of our generation.
