Indian officials said three Indian soldiers and a police officer were wounded while two of the militants had been killed so far.

Last week, Pakistan said three civilians were killed on their side of the de facto border in Kashmir after Indian soldiers opened fire.

Flight services are however yet to resume and a final decision would be taken by the Airport Authority of India following a security clearance.

The area where the attack took place falls is an area of central district of Budgam which is considered as "most secured". Officials added that five members of the squad are still at large due to which all security forces' camps are on high alert.
