Fake currency oxygen for terrorism: Rajnath Singh

Speaking on the sidelines after inaugurating the NIA's new headquarters here, Mr Singh also claimed that no country would accept the rise of terrorism on its soil. Union home minister Rajnath Singh said on Tuesday that the "morale of terror groups as well as separatists has been hit hard ever since the crackdown against the flow of funds from neighbouring countries was launched".

Blaming the opposition Congress for blocking the bill for granting Constitutional status to the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC), Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday said that the Modi government will not refrain from according constitutional status.

The process to sanitise the Kashmir Valley of terror elements has been catalysed, the Home Minister said, adding, "Everyday, the forces are successful in killing 5-6 terrorists".

Rajnath Singh said investigating terrorist activities was a tough job.

While appreciating the vigour of the Indian Army for foiling infiltration bid along the Line of Control and taking out terrorists, Rajnath Singh said that there's no denying India is making its presence felt in the world as a powerful nation on economic and security fronts.

Earlier, in his welcome speech, NIA Director General Sharad Kumar said 166 cases had been assigned to the NIA for investigation since the inception of the organisation in 2009. Assuring full power as prescribed under the Constitution, MrSingh blamed Congress for creating hurdles to the passage of thebill, but said Prime minister Narendra Modi will give accordconstitutional status to it "at any cost".

Lauding the role of the NIA, he said the agency had established its credibility and impartiality in the last eight years through professional and scientific investigation. He said terrorism acted as a hindrance to development.
