Teens accused of tossing rocks from overpass, killing construction worker

According to WXYZ, 32-year-old Kenneth Andrew White was in the passenger seat of a van on when the large rock went through the windshield and hit him.

Kenny White, 32, of Mount Morris, was killed Wednesday night when the rock broke through the windshield of his friend's vehicle on I-75 in Genesee County's Vienna Township, about 80 miles north of Detroit.

Four other vehicles were struck with large rocks or concrete chunks.

The Genesse County Sheriff's Office determined the rock striking White after a group of teenagers had thrown the heavy object from an overpass against oncoming traffic. They were reportedly throwing rocks as a prank.

Several teens are in custody for throwing rocks off of a MI overpass that killed 32-year-old Kenneth White. Leyton said he had not authorized charges in connection to the death.

Investigators believe the rocks may have been taken from another location and thrown off the overpass.

Several teens have been arrested in connection to the death of a Mt. Morris man after rocks were thrown from a highway overpass earlier this week, according to a report.

The teens, whose identities have not been made public, were taken into custody on Friday, authorities told told WXYZ Detroit.

He leaves behind a fiancee and a 5-year-old son, and his family is mourning his loss.

White's loved ones have also set up a GoFundMe page.
