The Florida Department of Law Enforcement issued a missing child alert on Mott, while his mother said the teen was insulin-dependent and pleaded for his safety and return.

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office announced late Friday that the 'armed and dangerous' teen was stopped near Buffalo, NY- hours after 53 year old woman, Kristina French's remains were discovered buried in the boy's backyard.

When the senior Mott returned from his vacation he found no one home and his house ransacked. Detectives with the Neptune Beach Police Department, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the FDLE and the FBI are investigating the case.

Officials say Mott is "considered armed and dangerous" and is likely driving the auto the pair was last seen in - a 2015 silver Dodge Dart with Florida tag DLL T42.

They were reported missing after Logan didn't show up to Sandalwood High School Monday or Tuesday. If spotted, the sheriff's office urges the public to call 911.

Police have been searching for Logan and his grandmother Kristina French for three days.

Mott was reported missing with grandmother, but police said they believed they had found her body in a shallow grave in the backyard of her son's home. Authorities noted that since guns were taken from the home, they considered the teen armed and risky.

Mott's mother Carrie Campbell-Mott released the following statement after learning her son was in custody, CBS affiliate WJAX reports: "We are relieved he is safe and in custody and we just ask for everyone to give us time to sort out what happened". "No matter what, Logan is our child and we love him and are standing by him to help in any way". Sources tell Action News Jax that Logan, the guns and the Dodge Dart are still missing.

She said a Jacksonville detective will fly to meet Logan on Saturday. Surveillance video shows that the teen may have traveled to Pennsylvania, officials added.
