Several dozens of them cut the border fence and crossed over in a bid to reach Khadr and defend it before they were apprehended and brought back by Israeli troops.

Hundreds of Syrians demonstrated inside the occupied territories off the town of Hadar, which has been subjected, since the dawn, to a violent terrorist attack launched by al-Nusra and backed by the Israeli occupation entity from al-Tuloul al-Homr area that is adjacent to the Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories, local sources in the Occupied Golan told SANA. Later in the day, an Israeli living in the Israeli Druze town of Majdl Shams was lightly wounded by a bullet shot from inside the Syrian territory into Israel.

In a highly unusual move, Israel on Friday said it would intervene in the Syrian Civil War by defending the Syrian Druze village Hader, hours after a terrorist from the al Nusra Front terror group killed nine people in a suicide bombing just across the border, sparking clashes between Syrian government forces and rebels.

However, in Lebanon and Syria, the Druze minority is widely perceived as allied not only with the Alawite group of Assad, but also with the Shiite Hezbollah terrorist group, which fights for Israel's destruction.

In a statement, the IDF said that the situation along the border and in Khader was "under control".

The Israeli army sealed off the area to prevent anyone crossing.

Suspect captured in killing of University of Utah student, police say
The Deseret News reports that the university sent an alert at 9 pm to students and staff to take shelter and remain inside campus. Rachel Tam of Pleasant Grove, Utah, said Tuesday that Guo was a member of the Mormon church and served as a missionary in Provo.

Responding to some allegations by Druze that Israel was assisting Tahrir al-Sham, the Israeli military said "the allegations of Israeli involvement and assistance to global jihadi elements in the fighting are groundless".

"The IDF is prepared and ready to assist the residents of the village and prevent damage to or capture of Hader, out of a commitment to the Druze population", it said. They were assisted by units of the Syrian army.

Speaking from London, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said "we safeguard our borders".

United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres in June expressed concerns about a spike in contacts between the Israeli military and militants, saying it could lead to escalation and cause harm to UN observers deployed to the Golan Heights.

The PA ministry's statement accused Israel of supplying al-Nusra with weapons, salaries, medical aid and intelligence in exchange for keeping Israel's northern border with Syria safe.
