Nokia 5 with 3GB RAM variant launched in India

HMD Global has launched a new variant of its Nokia 5 which was released a few months ago. As mentioned earlier, the phone also packs in 3GB of RAM to suffice all sorts of multitasking.

Nokia's 3GB RAM variant will be available on Flipkart starting tomorrow (7 November), the smartphone will also be available through offline retailers from 14 November. Apart from the extra gigabyte of RAM, the 3GB RAM variant is identical to the previous model in every which way. Nokia 5 (3GB variant) will be available in matte black and tempered blue shades.

The Nokia 5 features a 5.2-inch HD display protected by Corning Gorilla glass.

The Nokia 5 was launched alongside the Nokia 3 and Nokia 6 smartphones in India in June this year.

In accordance with BlizzCon , Blizzard updated its official site with more information on the upcoming Overwatch hero . She will also sport a movement ability, fade , which will allow her to quickly teleport over a short distance.

Now increasing the RAM to 3GB from 2GB was an obvious move but it has not been well thought out. Talking about its selfie camera, the smartphone features an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter with an f/2.0 aperture, 84-degree field of view lens and autofocus for capturing selfies and making a video call. The new device is priced marginally higher at Rs 13,499 in comparison to the 2GB variant which was launched at Rs 12,499. "Now we have added more memory so fans can get enhanced performance in the same precision-engineered design", Ajey Mehta, Vice President India, HMD Global, said in a statement.

On the software front, the phone ships with a close to stock Android Nougat operating system and as promised by the company should expect an update to Android Oreo soon enough. It comes with 16GB on-board storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB using MicroSD Card. The phone is backed by a 3,000mAh battery.

Connectivity options include dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, and Global Positioning System.
