Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Details from Today's Nintendo Direct

Earlier today, Nintendo hosted a new Direct broadcast in which is revealed a ton of new Xenoblade Chronicles 2 details.

First DLC drops will contain quests and support items, and eventually include a challenge Battle Mode where players will face powerful enemies.

All of the DLC mentioned in the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 season pass will be coming out in various intervals throughout the rest of this year and a significant portion of the next, with the new adventure DLC coming in Autumn of 2018. In addition, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will receive a day-one DLC patch that brings an optional Japanese audio track.

Nintendo also announced they'll be using the popular The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to promote Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Although it wasn't explicitly mentioned, this DLC side quest will be available as a free download or an in-game update. Rex, the main character, is a Driver while his companion Pyra is a Blade. It's also available December 1, along with a Xenoblade Pro Controller for Nintendo Switch ($74.99).

Blizzard did not give an official release date for Battle for Azeroth , but don't expect it before spring 2018 at the earliest. A new resource, called Azerite , feeds the necklace and lets players unlock new powers and traits in their armor.

In and out of battle, Blades will have a wide array of support abilities.

Fans who want to expand their epic adventure can pre-purchase an Expansion Pass for the game in Nintendo eShop beginning today or pre-order it from select retailers shortly at a suggested retail price of $29.99. It's great to see that availability continue in the next, upcoming release, and it's a good sign when it comes to ongoing trends from Nintendo.

The expansive open-world role-playing game will take players to Alrest, "a world full of living lands known as Titans and the fabled paradise of Elysium".
