Alabama unemployment at record low

Cities with the highest unemployment rates are Selma at 6.6 percent, Prichard at 6.5 percent, and Anniston and Bessemer at 4.9 percent.

Nebraska continues to be among the states with the lowest unemployment rates, and is logging rates much lower than the rest of the country.

The U.S. Labor Department reports that rates also fell in 19 other states, indicating a positive economic growth pattern across the United States.

While the November statewide rate slightly increased 0.1 percent from the previous month, unemployment in Tennessee remains historically low.

Unemployment rates have dropped to record lows in five states, including the "yellow hammer" state of Alabama.

The County of Maui as a whole had a 2.1% unemployment rate (non seasonally adjusted) for November 2017, up from the 2% rate in October 2017, and down from the 3.1% rate at the same time past year.

SC added almost 8,000 jobs in last month. November's rate represents 75,807 unemployed persons, also a new record low, compared to 77,231 in October and 136,135 in November 2016.

During the past year, the largest absolute gains were in Texas, where the number of jobs climbed 330,600. Two industry sectors reported job declines over the month, down a total of 8,200 jobs. California was second in job additions with 288,300. Nationally, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4.1% in November, the same as in October.

Alaska's unemployment rate for November stood at 7.2 percent, unchanged since August.
