Rain chances Wednesday, warm temperatures continue

EXTENDED: Temperatures will continue to be mild throughout region all the way through Thursday, ahead of our next cold front. Southwest wind at 6 miles per hour. Temperatures will rise to the upper 30s with temperatures impressive tomorrow in the mid to upper 40s!

The early call for the weekend is for low-pressure to track well to our west, with an swath of warmer air and rain showers likely Friday night and Saturday.

There will be bright or short sunny spells over Ulster and north Connacht on Wednesday, with highest temperatures there of 7 to 9 degrees.

Mostly clear skies will hang around tonight, with the southwest wind up to 7 miles per hour remaining in place as well. Saturday night looks cloudy, with scattered showers and lows in the 40s.

Google Chrome to start blocking intrusive ads February 15

Morning clouds to the south of the Triangle will break up by midday, leaving us with plenty of sunshine this afternoon. Chilly temperatures develop with a high of 49 degrees. High temperatures Wednesday will be in the middle to upper 60s. Due to the upper low not moving until Wednesday, we will keep the clouds and rain chances in the forecast through that point. Temperatures tumble to the 20s and 30s. We are watching the system closely for a light accumulation of snow by Christmas morning.

Christmas Eve on Sunday looks dry for now.

MONDAY - Patchy fog early morning. Sunday could see another disturbance, and with cold air in place, that could mean snow showers, but the track of that disturbance is very uncertain, with no agreement in medium range models at this time. Saturday will be the milder of the two as highs likely climb back above 50 degrees despite the rain, thanks to a warm southerly breeze on the milder side of an approaching cold front. Right behind the front on Christmas Day, there is a slight chance for a few rain and snow showers.
