Flu season usually lasts through early summer.

The flu is here and it's hitting San Diegans hard.

The flu is on the rise in Hamilton, prompting the city's public health services to renew calls for people to get vaccinated.

Glenn said he encourages people to check with other health departments for availability, or go to a pharmacy or their primary care physician.

The two people who recently died in Oklahoma County were reportedly over the age of 50.

"Luckily those kids are going on break so that will stop the spread in schools but it is out in the community so there will be transmission going on between family and friends", said Martin.

"We are seeing people impacted by the flu at all ages", WRHA acting chief operating officer Lori Lamont said on Friday. Sometimes the vaccine doesn't match up well against the current viruses - this year it's H3N2 and variations of the B strain, Strang said.

Leyba said anyone who is feeling ill should not come to the hospital to visit a loved one being treated there and risk infecting the patient or others.

Gun used in Tupac's murder was found in Compton backyard in 1998
Tupac himself reportedly refused to tell the cop who found him after the shooting who his killer was, simply saying 'f**K you'. The gun that was used to kill Tupac Shakur was found 19 years ago - but its current location remains a mystery.

Each person can have a different reaction to the virus.

There have been news reports that this year's flu vaccine is only about 10 percent effective, but those reports are misleading. Unlike measles or chickenpox, which are stable viruses, the influenza virus mutates from year to year, enabling it to evade our immune system. It can also remain on surfaces, such as doorknobs or faucet handles.

"Getting the flu is an terrible experience. We know the more people that have been immunized even with a less-thanoptimum vaccine. will help prevent the spread as well". "You can always get a flu vaccine".

"The numbers are low compared to what everyone else is seeing across the province, so we just want to keep a close eye on it", says Ahmed. The nasal spray vaccine is not recommended.

Flu-like symptoms include cough, fever, body aches, headache, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, chills and fatigue.

Since the first flu cases started revealing themselves a few months ago in the U.S., "several influenza activity indicators were higher than is typically seen for this time of year", the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported last week.

"We've seen increases in cases here since Thanksgiving".
