Liverpool's Mohamed Salah wins incredible individual award

He comfortably emerged the victor during a ceremony in Accra in the late hours of Thursday, coming ahead of Liverpool teammate Sadio Mane of Senegal and Borussia Dortmund's Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Liverpool and Egypt star Mohamed Salah has been named as the victor of the award for 2017 following an impeccable year.

On the worldwide stage he was hugely instrumental in both Egypt's Africa Cup of Nations success - the North African team made it to the final - and also World Cup qualification for the Pharaohs.

Mohamed Salah impressive 2017 ensured he had a total of 700 votes while second place Saido Mane had 100 votes and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had just 70 votes.

Mane finished second on 507 with Aubameyang third on 311.

In an interview with the press after the 2017 AITEO CAF Awards at the International Conference Center in Accra, the former Asante Kotoko and Al Khartoum gaffer highlighted the vital roles the former Chelsea and AS Roma player played in the team's qualification to the 2018 World Cup.
