'The book is best understood as a work of very poorly written fiction, ' Miller added.

Mr. Miller also pushed back against the perception that Mr. Bannon, whose harsh criticism of Mr. Trump and his family in the book has caused a sharp falling-out with the president, had ever played a Svengali-like role as chief strategist in the White House and on the presidential campaign.

He also criticized former aide Stephen Bannon and Fire and Fury, the recently-published book in which Bannon calls the president's son "treasonous". As Tapper tried to move on to specific questions, like the president's recent comments about Steve Bannon, Miller interrupted to praise Trump for everything that he accomplished in the 2016 election. "Jake Tapper of Fake News CNN just got destroyed in his interview with Stephen Miller of the Trump Administration".

Miller accused CNN of "anti-Trump hysterical coverage" following the Friday release of the book, which portrays Trump, a former reality TV start who took office almost a year ago, as mentally unstable and unfit for the demands of his job.

About halfway through the interview, things really got heated as Miller continued to dodge Tapper's questions. "And I think I've wasted enough of my viewers' time".

"The author is a garbage author of a garbage book", said Miller, explaining that the depiction of the President was contrary to his own experience.

It has been a hard second season in the National Football League for Apple, who was the Giants first-round pick a year ago. With one off-color comment and an reported outburst at practice, Eli Apple likely ended his Giants career.

Miller went on CNN's State of the Union today for an interview with host Jake Tapper, and when Miller started to do his usual dance - lying and obfuscating (great word, look it up) - Tapper decided he wasn't going to take any of that shit.

"And with respect to the Trump Tower meeting that he's talking about, he wasn't even there when any of this went down", Miller said. Trump publicly broke with Bannon last week after the remarks were publicized before the book's publication. 'Watch the hatred and unfairness of this CNN flunky!'

"It happens to be a true statement", Miller said of the characterization.

Wolff has said the book was based on White House access, conversations with Trump and interviews with senior staffers, including Bannon.

Miller also argued that the president's Saturday tweets, in which he boasted about his "mental stability" and IQ, were helpful in arguing the point that he had the fortitude to do the job. "The president's tweets absolutely reaffirm the plain spoken truth: self made billionaire who revolutionized reality TV, and tapped into something magical that's happening in the hearts of this country".
