"I don't have to spend 20 years trying".

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. and race vehicle driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. are celebrating their relationship through a new advertisement set to air during the Daytona 500.

"Twenty years ago he was in Victory Lane. 20 years later, win with my grandson in the No. 3 auto is a storybook tale", Childress said.

"I knew how special this place was to my dad".

First came a bump from the hard-charging Dillon. The first two stages were each 60 laps while the third was 80 laps. It's the second straight year the 500 victor has only led on the white flag lap. We've got an incredible race team and I'm gonna go to Atlanta and we're gonna have good race cars there and we'll have a shot to win next week. Who wound up winning?

Virginia native Denny Hamlin, Joey Logano, and Chris Buescher rounded out the top five finishers.

That is the best finish in the Daytona 500 by an African-American, besting the 13th-place finish by Scott in 1966. The two had a long embrace in which she told Wallace repeatedly "you've waited so long, baby".

Dagestan church shooting may be terrorist attack
According to a local official the assailant was a local man in his early twenties, the Interfax news agency reported . Where is Dagestan? Dagestan borders Chechnya in the Caucasus Mountains in Southern Russia .

"It's Daytona", he exhaled after a few tears at the podium. By the time it ended, 25 of the 40 cars were still running, many of them badly damaged.

Earlier wrecks had taken out a bunch of potential winners, including Jimmie Johnson, Chase Elliott, Brad Keselowski and Kevin Harvick.

Stage 2 was dominated by Ryan Blaney, making his debut in the Team Penske 12 auto. On the last lap, Aric Almirola stood between No. 3 and the finish line. Almirola moved to block him, but Dillon ran into his right-rear quarter panel and turned him into the wall.

From that point, he could never claw back up front.

Defending Daytona 500 champion Kurt Busch (No. 41 Haas Automation/Monster Energy Ford) won the first stage which was bookended by significant developments. My grandma ran over and said we won the race, and we had no clue what the significance of that race was but we knew we were going to Victory Lane. It just really sucks.

That bunched up the field one final time and gave Dillon a chance to break through. Almirola, with a life-changing moment just over a mile away, was in full blocking mode, trying to protect that lead. Going into turn 3 on the final lap, Austin Dillon was being pushed by Bubba Wallace. But the driver himself didn't blame anyone for the wreck; instead, he claimed partial responsibility.

Goodyear will debut a television commercial during Fox Broadcasting's coverage of the 2018 Daytona 500 that is aimed at reaching die-hard NASCAR fans and sports fans in general. To be part of Hendrick Motorsports and for Mr. Hendrick to have this confidence in me, it's just awesome.
