Jetstar expects all their flights will be back on schedule by midday, after its morning flights were delayed by an hour on average.

The issue impacted both domestic and global terminals, with commuters sharing images of closed off roller doors at the screening checkpoint and some claiming the security cameras were not operational.

Brisbane Airport tweeted at 9.22am that the incident was ongoing and would cause delays for passengers trying to get through the security screening process, but no other information was made available.

Sydney Airport is advising passengers to check with their airline for up-to-date information about their flights.

The Airport alerted travellers to the issue on Twitter, urging them to avoid Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 as they work to resolve the issue.

A spokeswoman for the airport said security screens were closed for 30 minutes as a result of the breach this morning, leading to a backlog.
