As the 2018 NFL Draft nears, however, there are a number of Scouting Combine standouts who deserve to be mentioned and discussed.

The NFL community was treated to one of the most impressive performances by a football player at the NFL Combine this past weekend.

National Football League logic dictates that the fastest way from the cellar to the attic is to draft a franchise quarterback. Meanwhile, starting corners Prince Amukamara and Kyle Fuller are about to hit free agency. Here are five of the players who excelled this weekend at positions where the Eagles are looking to restock. McVay told reporters on Thursday that the Rams would be meeting with Donald's representation at the Combine. Chubb is a special player who has the potential to be a perennial Pro Bowler. For those doing mock drafts, Ward is a top-10 lock. It's curious though, that they would use a high pick on him if they didn't think they could develop him into a serviceable player. The staff will start with something a prospect knows well, like game film, and assess his ability to effectively communicate his responses. He can play off the ball as a sideline-to-sideline linebacker, and then rush the quarterback in sub packages because of his size and athleticism. If they are so inclined, then take an available quarterback at four and put them in a competition with Kizer.

The drills, on the other hand, serve more as a reference point of sorts. If that's the case, L.A. will have plenty of talent to choose from as the position group is loaded with the top athletes. The guy ran the fastest 40 yard for a linebacker since, I think 2003.

The 10-member team from South Korea is in Pyongyang for talks aimed at restarting dialogue between the North, South and the U.S. Chung said on Tuesday he had a message from Kim Jong Un he will relay to USA officials.

Two of the defensive backs that could be headed the Rams way include Colorado's Isaiah Oliver and Iowa's Joshua Jackson. He also impressed scouts with his performance in the positional drills, showcasing his solid hands and long arms.

Since 2002, the last time the Browns made the playoffs, they've had seven head coaches - Butch Davis, Terry Robiskie (interim), Romeo Crennel, Eric Mangini, Pat Shurmur, Rob Chudzinski, Pettine and Hue Jackson, who is still employed and therefore not yet eligible for the fraternity. Griffin wasn't even originally invited to the combine, and when he finally was, he was considered to be a late-round pick, if he were to even be selected at all. Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield had a good showing, while UCLA's Josh Rosen and Louisville's Lamar Jackson both had up-and-down performances in the passing drills. The Browns could even take him with the first overall pick. "He tied Barkley with 29 bench press reps, and was second among running backs in the broad jump (10'8") and fourth in the vertical (38.5).

The value of running backs is usually not enough to warrant a top two selection, regardless of their skill. - Mike Mayock on Orlando Brown running an unofficial 5.86 in the 40-yard dash.

The Big Sky defender was still feeling good after the mishap.
