Putin: Give Us Evidence Of Meddling, New Cold War In US Propaganda

On Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin showcased a number of new strategic weapons that "can pierce any defense systems", and the U.S. State Department accused Moscow of violating arms control treaties.

Putin during his speech showed a series of video montages of missiles crossing mountains and oceans, heading over the Atlantic before striking the U.S. eastern seaboard.

Incumbent President Vladimir Putin has held a campaign rally at a major Moscow sports arena, promising "victories" for Russian Federation in remarks to a supportive audience 15 days before an election that seems certain to hand him a new six-year term.

US President Donald Trump and German Chancellor Angela Merkel shared worries in a phone conversation over Putin's claims, Berlin said Friday.

"We want our country to be bright and looking to the future, for our children and grandchildren.we will do everything we can for them to be happy", Putin told the cheering crowd at Moscow's Luzhniki stadium on March 3. No one listened to us then.

Putin contended that he can not take action unless it goes "through official channels, not through the press or yelling and hollering in the United States Congress".

Peskov denied suggestions that one of the videos allegedly used a map of the United States to simulate an attack on Florida.

Putin made the comments, likely to strike a chord with millions of nostalgic older Russians, weeks before a Mar 18 election that polls show he should win comfortably.

"This is a formal declaration of a new Cold War", independent security analyst Alexander Golts told AFP.

"We don't regard that as the behaviour of a responsible worldwide player", spokeswoman Heather Nauert said.

The US intelligence community concluded previous year that Russia-linked actors interfered in the 2016 US election on specific orders from Putin.
