When you 'spring forward' this weekend, change your smoke alarm batteries, too

As this weekend's time change approaches, North Bay Fire and Emergency Services remind you to make another change that could save lives - 'Change the Batteries in your Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarms'.

Sunday night, March 11th, move your clocks forward from 2:00am to 3:00am for Daylight Savings Time.

Smoke alarm powered by a nine-volt battery: Test the alarm each month.

According to the National Fire Protection Association, nearly two-thirds of home fire deaths resulted from fires in structures without working smoke alarms.
